Karijini National Park - Redtrack Eco Adventure Tours

Explore Karijini National Park camping at Station Stays along the way – 11 days.

Dave has been exploring, trekking, swimming, and taking groups through Karijini NP since 1981. Working in Newman to the East of Karijini NP and Tom Price to the West he was able to make it his playground, to escape these busy mining towns. Those were the good old days when Karijini NP only had 5000 visitors with one part time ranger, NO steel viewing platforms or staircases and NO handrails. This seems like a very long time ago with NO mention of Insurance and Accreditation for Tour Guides from the relevant authoities. Fast track to 2023 we have 6-7 full time rangers, 300 000 visitors (just prior to COVID), steel structures constructed in the riskiest areas of the NP (making it a lot safer for visitors) and a very thorough Accreditaion Process for Tour Guides in Western Australia. This is Dave’s signature Tour that has become very successful because of his wealth of knowledge in this spectacular area of Western Australia. Dave will take you to some of the remote gorges of the Park, to get away from the crowds so that ytou can simply sit back and view in awe at this magnificient landscape. To make this tour complete Dave has included Station Stays on along the Great Northern Hwy and North West Coastal Hwy. Ninghan Station (or Karara Rangelands), Gascoyne River, Cheela Plains Station, Wooramel Station and Murchinson House Station will give you a memorable experience as to what Western Australia really has to offer. Lets support the friendly, hard working owners of these Station Stays so that we can again one day revisit them to learn more and take in their beauty. Lets get away from the crowds who camp in busy regional towns and caravan parks.

Where

Karijini National Park is situated in the Hamersley Range between the townships of Tom Price and Newman and is approximately 1400 Km’s from Perth along the Great Northern Highway.

Camping at Station Stays along the way. Experience life on a Station, discover new landscapes, and enjoy the friendly hospitality of your hosts.

Small Offroad Caravans/Hybrids are now welcome on this tour along with SUv’s and All Wheel drive cars.

Things to see and do in Karijini NP

  • Dales Gorge – At Dales Gorge you can experience three major highlights of Karijini National Park. Fortescue Falls, the Circular Pool and Fern Pool are perfect for a day’s trip.
  • Karijini Visitor Centre: The visitor centre is a fascinating part of any visit to Karijini National Park.
  • Oxer lookout that overlooks the junction of Handcock, Joffre and Weano gorge.
  • Trek Hancock and Weano Gorge
  • Trek Knox Gorge
  • Trek Kalamina Gorge
  • Joffre Gorge – Joffre Gorge is a stunning natural amphitheatre with a spectacular curved seasonal waterfall. From the campsite at Eco Retreat you can trek down to the bottom of Joffre gorge to be amazed by the shear size and unique beauty of Joffre falls. The trek is well marked but make sure you take a backpack, camera, towel, drinking water, food, and an inflatable mattress that can be used to paddle rather than swim in the cold water.
