ITINERARY 2
3 nights at Wandina Station,1 night Karara Rangelands Park. Explore Tallering Peak/Gorge, Drovers Pool, and DeGrey-Mullewa Stock Route.
WHY VISIT THIS AREA?
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) has taken over the responsibility to care for this area of land once used for Pastoral Leases. The Stations that ran these pastoral leases became unsustainable and degraded. So now you can enjoy remote camping in a more pristine, natural environment as the DBCA works hard to revegetate and clean up this area. We now have a Ranger in residence in the Park.

ITINERARY for Melangata Station
Day 1 Karara Rangeland Park
Campsite at John Forrest Lookout . View Rothsay Cemetery, Camel Soak, Mongers Lake Lookout. Set up our communal campfire.
Day 2 Melangata Station campsite.
Checkout the Warriedar Homestead and Mongers Lake on the way to Melangata Station. Pizza night around our communal campfire.
Day 3 Melangata Station campsite
Morning tour of heritage listed homestead, with Jo. Then tea and scones. Ken’s guided tour of the property, in our 4WD.
Day 4 Melangata Station campsite.
Jo’s Camp oven cookup Demo. Fellow campers to choose a meal, or cake, or damper, to cook for 4 people to share. Bring your own camp oven and ingredients. Jo will assist. All sitting down to a long table dinner. Fun night sitting around the Communal fire.
Day 5 Return Perth
Melangata Station Stay costs –
Campsite fees 3x nights, Jo’s campfire cooking demo, and Ken’s guided tour around the station- TOTAL $145 per person

Day 1 Karara Rangeland Park

Day 2 Wandina Station campsite
Checkout the Warriedar Homestead and Mongers Lake on the way to Wandina Station. Pizza night around our communal campfire.
Day 3 Wandina Station campsite
Explore Tallering Peak/Gorge, and DeGrey-Mullewa Stock Route. Around the communal campfire for nibbles while we watch the sun set over the Gorges.
Day 4 Wandina Station campsite
Explore Drovers Pool, the homestead and trek through the wildflowers.
Day 5 RETURN PERTH
Wandina Station stay cost $15/N/person. No toilets or showers.
