WHY VISIT THIS AREA?
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) has taken over the responsibility to care for this area of land once used for Pastoral Leases. The Stations that ran these pastoral leases became unsustainable and degraded. So now you can enjoy remote camping in a more pristine, natural environment as the DBCA works hard to revegetate and clean up this area. We now have a Ranger in residence in the Park.
On payment of the 50% deposit receive a fully comprehensive INFORMATION PACKAGE to help you get organized for this Adventure Camping Tour. This has been put together with over 40 years experience and will include the following via a Google shared link, emailed to you.

ITINERARY
Day 1 Campsite at Karara Rangeland Park. Checkout John Forrest Lookout, Rothsay Cemetery, Camel Soak, Mongers Lake Lookout. Admire the wildflowers. Set up our communal campfire.
Day 2 Campsite at Karara Rangeland Park. Checkout the Homestead and Mongers Lake. Pizza Night around our communal campfire
Day 3 Melangata Station. Jo’s Campfire Demo. Fellow campers to choose a meal, or cake, or damper, to cook for 4 people to share. Jo will assist. Fun night around the Communal fire.
Day 4 Melangata Station. Morning tour of heritage listed homestead, with Jo. Then tea and scones. Ken’s guided tour of the property, in our 4WD. If we explore and camp out in Breakaway Country we will use our own toilet and showers.
Day 5 Return Perth
Melangata Station Stay costs –
Campsite fees 2x nights, Jo’s campfire cooking demo, and Ken’s guided tour around the station- TOTAL $130 per person

- Food and Gear: You're responsible for your bedding (not mattress), food, and cooking. Get ready for a blast! We'll spice things up with communal cooking sessions on select occasions, adding a fun and flavorful twist to the adventure!
- Luggage Guidelines: Keep your luggage and food sizes similar to carry-on luggage on airplanes. Drop them off to Dave in advance.
- Passenger Responsibilities: No worries about navigation, car maintenance, or refueling—Dave has got it covered.
- Fees Clarification: Campsite and National Park fees are not included. Station campsite fees are approximately $20/night/person and should be paid via the shop before departure.
- Total Tour Cost: Check the total tour cost below and make the deposit through the shop or directly to Dave.
